Cape Cod Eco-Tales was born in 2015 from the connection of a passionate teacher and a local artist who both shared the same love of the outdoors and the desire to educate children about the environment. The stories featured in Cape Cod Eco-Tales are broken down into three mini-series, each exploring different ecosystems that can be found throughout Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
Cape Cod Eco-Tales is a great tool for teaching young students about nature.
Heidi Clemmer, author of the series, grew up on Cape Cod and was an elementary educator in Wellfleet for 21 years. Cape Cod Eco-Tales is the result of a desire to share her passion and create excitement about the varied and significant ecosystems that dominate the Outer Cape.
Marisa Picariello, illustrator of the series, has always drawn inspiration for her artwork from the natural world. She received her B.A. from Wheaton College (Norton, MA), where she studied art and art history, and now lives in Wellfleet where she continues to spend her time exploring the natural world of Cape Cod.
